This hybrid role combines laboratory materials characterization with structured software quality activities, ensuring that the scientific workflows our customers rely on are accurate, reliable, and intuitive.</p><h4><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></h4><ul><li>Perform DSC, TGA, SDT, and rheology measurements on polymers, composites, pharmaceuticals, and other materials to build reference datasets.</li><li>Develop, refine, and document experimental methods tailored to the needs of analytics, modeling, and algorithm development.</li><li>Ensure high data integrity through consistent sample preparation, metadata capture, and quality checks.</li><li>Work with Data Science and R&amp;D teams to define experiment matrices that address data gaps.</li><li>Analyze results and provide material behavior insights to guide model interpretation and parameterization.</li><li>Design and execute functional, integration, and end-to-end workflow testing across thermal analysis and rheology platforms.</li><li>Validate instrument control, data acquisition, file handling, and analysis workflows from a system-level perspective, considering interactions between hardware, software, and experimental methods.</li><li>Work with the System Test group to develop and refine test plans, scenarios, and regression coverage for new features, bug fixes, and system integrations.</li><li>Reproduce, document, and communicate software issues to engineering teams with clear supporting data.</li><li>Maintain instruments, calibration standards, and testing records.</li><li>Prepare clear summaries of experimental results and testing outcomes for cross-functional teams.</li><li>Provide occasional support to Applications, Sales, or Customer Support teams with expertise on thermal and rheological behavior.</li><li>Contribute to a culture of quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.</li></ul><h4><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.</li><li>5+ years of Hands-on experience with thermal analysis and/or rheology.</li><li>Strong experimental technique, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to generate high-quality datasets.</li><li>Ability to interpret thermal transitions, decomposition behavior, viscoelastic response, and related material properties.</li><li>Experience working with scientific software systems, including evaluating workflows, identifying issues, and providing structured feedback.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Experience with TA Instruments platforms and TA software environments.</li><li>Familiarity with software testing concepts, including functional, regression, and workflow testing, with the ability to apply these concepts in practice.</li><li>Ability to design and execute test scenarios that validate end-to-end workflows and uncover edge cases or failure modes.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate issues based on user impact, severity, and frequency to support release-quality decisions.</li><li>Experience with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or automation.</li><li>Experience with system-level testing of integrated hardware/software products is a strong plus.</li><li>Exposure to data science workflows, metadata standards, or structured experimental datasets.</li></ul><h4><strong>Company Description&nbsp;</strong></h4><p><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://www.waters.com/">Waters Corporation</a> (NYSE:WAT)&nbsp;is a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, dedicated to accelerating the benefits of pioneering science through analytical technologies, informatics, and service.
