Agilent Technologies: Strategies to Improve the Precision and Accuracy of your Isotope Ratio Measurements

Accurate and precise isotope ratio measurements are crucial for a wide range of applications.  Quadrupole based Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) has emerged as one of the preferred analytical instruments for isotope ratio measurements due to its superior sensitivity, accuracy, and precision. However, the reliability of these measurements depends heavily on the experimental setup and the methodologies employed.  For example, if mass bias effects and detector dead time settings are not properly adjusted, the accuracy of the results can be compromised. Additionally, various sources of noise can degrade the precision of the measurement by contributing excess variance to the ratio of the isotopic signals.

This webinar will provide some strategies and techniques to minimize the impact of these factors, ultimately enhancing the accuracy and precision of your isotope ratio measurements when using ICP-MS.
