Thermo Scientific™ GS Omni AnalyzerThermo Scientific GS Omni uses PGNAA to provide continuous, calibration-free elemental analysis of process streams. Designed for demanding industrial slurry applications.
Features

Thermo Scientific™ GS Omni Analyzer

The Thermo Scientific™ GS Omni Light Element Analyzer provides robust, accurate elemental analysis for multiple process streams, delivering real-time information for the optimization of slurry beneficiation processes such as froth flotation. Utilizing industry-leading Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA) technology, it measures both heavy and light elements, crucially covering the Z<20 elements – calcium and lighter – that are less well-suited to X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysis. Together, Thermo Scientific PGNAA and XRF analyzers allow customers to measure the broadest possible range of elements.

Since the PGNAA signal is unaffected by particle size, ore matrix or inter-element interference, the GS Omni requires no recalibration as the ore changes, enabling robust measurement with minimal cost and ongoing effort. Easily configured for between two and eight process streams, it provides data that you can confidently rely on. Use the GS Omni to control contaminant elements, improve product quality, increase recovery, and lower production costs.

The GS Omni offers near metallurgical quality analysis for up to eight process streams, depending on concentration, elements of interest, required cycle analysis time, plant layout, and process control considerations.

🔑 Key features include:

  • Capability to measure light elements such as calcium, chlorine, sulfur, aluminum, silicon, magnesium, and sodium, for industrially relevant analysis over an extended range of elements relative to XRF.
  • Unaffected by matrix effects and particle size – unlike XRF – for robust measurements in the face of process changes and ore variability with no requirement for recalibration.
  • Scintillation detectors eliminate the need for cooling apparatus, enabling simpler set-up and operation with no requirement for chillers or special environmental control.
  • Modular multiplexer, for expansion from 2 to 8 streams.
  • Holding tank and sample recirculation through the measurement zone provide deaeration, which along with multiple passes through PGNAA source delivers more accurate measurement for slurry streams.
  • Factory calibrated for slurry applications with only infrequent site checks required, enabling minimal manual input and low maintenance.
