Job Description
The Staff Applications Scientist in the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and Small Dual Beam (SDB) applications team is responsible for providing technical expertise in the support of above products
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate positive customer relationships and act as a high-level customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues, explain complex technology details, give in depth technical presentations
- Lead TEM/SDB product demonstration or customer’s sample evaluation, by leading the communication with sales and supporting team to prepare for the demonstration, and deliver professional report after the demonstration, to give strong positive impact on business success
- Conduct customer support and applications training and translate customer needs into workable solutions
- Maintain demo tool with benchmarked performance, and provide continuous feedback to the product groups on system performance, features, and potential problems
- Document application examples and competitive landscapes, collect voice of customer, explore product adoption on local market, and coordinate marketing collateral generation with marketing team, participate in conferences and workshops to promote new application solutions
- Collaborate with marketing/development groups on future product developments. Lead new product application testing and communication with R&D
Experience / Other Requirements:
- Profound knowledge of advanced technology diagnostics as well as fault finding techniques, operational optimization, and experience of analytical equipment; specifically, electron/ion microscopes are required
- 1 or more years’ experience in a relevant commercial/research establishment with intensive hands-on experience on TEM/SDB
- Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience are critical to the success of this position.
- Excellent customer interfacing skills a must
- Proven ability to interact with cross - functional and cross - cultural teams
- Fluent English is a must
- Frequent traveling and ability to travel both domestically internationally, possession of a valid passport.
Educational Qualification
- Typically requires MS degree, higher is preferred, in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics with strong post academic background demonstrating expertise in critical microscopy application areas
