Software Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to work closely with our ICP‑MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) software development team which is part of Atomic Spectroscopy group in SVD. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our next‑generation analytical software products. Based on software specifications and actual system behavior, you will design and execute comprehensive test plans, leveraging both manual testing and automated testing within a DevSecOps‑enabled CI/CD environment.
You will be responsible for executing manual testing, improving and maintaining our automated test infrastructure, analyzing test results, identifying quality risks, and contributing to continuous quality improvements across the entire development lifecycle. As a core member of the team, you will help enhance the performance, stability, and usability of our ICP‑MS software applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related discipline. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Educational background or hands-on experience in software engineering, software testing, or embedded systems development is highly desirable, especially in scientific instrumentation or analytical software domains.
Strong communication skills in either English or Japanese are essential.
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a quality assurance, software development, or engineering role, ideally within a regulated or high-precision industry such as analytical instrumentation, medical devices, or semiconductor manufacturing.
Familiarity with tools and frameworks for software testing, defect tracking, and version control (e.g., Jira, git, Confluence, Microsoft Azure).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
