Service Engineer
Overview
As Field Service Engineer, you are an ambassador of Waters and will bring to the market Waters’ products and services. The candidate will demonstrates a clear grasp of understanding the customers’ business and its growth plans and is able to take that knowledge and convert that into a solution and offering from Waters, with a primary aim of bringing “customer success”. This position brings a great degree of flexibility working in the field. The role will be designated to either a territory and/or markets.
Responsibilities
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical expertise in the repair and installation of thermal analysis and rheology instruments.
- Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Can diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and install all Company product lines. May require assistance with more difficult installations.
- considerable latitude in determining and managing territory activities. Is consistently on or over established revenue plan for the territory.Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises
- Failure to achieve revenue results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause significant financial impact and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
- Frequent outside customer contacts; maintains positive relationships with customers and has a high level of customer satisfaction. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with instrument repair and installation.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and often complicated/multi-part instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Company.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in engineering or other science related
Experience:
- 3 years of experience with installation, performance maintenance, troubleshooting, support and/or end user utilization of scientific instrumentation, preference for previous TA product suite ( thermal analysis and rheology instruments)
- Ability to perform effective system level troubleshooting
- Understanding of the scientific workflow along with the scientific software systems (TRIOS/ IT Windows)

Travel:
