As part of our Connected Science team, you’ll help build the next generation of cloud-native platforms that power scientific discovery — all while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working model from our purpose-built Wilmslow site.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong AWS and cloud engineering experience to join our Cloud Platform team. This is your opportunity to lead from the front, influence architecture, and grow your role as our platform evolves.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and services on AWS.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and stakeholders to shape technical direction.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operate within established best practices in CI/CD, testing, and cloud-native development.
- Work in a modern Agile environment with autonomy and purpose.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in backend development with C#/.NET.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
- Solid understanding of microservices, REST APIs, and DevOps practices.
- Passion for clean code, testing (TDD/BDD), and Agile delivery.
Bonus if you have experience with, but not essential:
- Familiarity with Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions
- BDD with Gherkin & SpecFlow
- Secure software development (OWASP, TLS, PKI)
- Regulated environments (e.g., IVD, medical devices)
