BPEN Physicist X-ray (Methods development and Qualification)
For our Bruker Operation located in Penang, we are looking for a scientist to be responsible for
- System integration and qualification of systems, tools, and components for our instruments
- Development of table-top analytical instruments for X-Xay Fluorescence Spectrometry and X-Ray Diffraction.
- Support the Operations and Partner with Manufacturing team in producing and testing X-Ray analytical equipment.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Development and optimization of products and components.
- Defining and optimizing workflows for instruments.
- Supporting product ramp-up to serial production and approval of quality standard for assembled products.
- Reviewing standard operating procedures and improving assembly and testing processes.
- Maintaining our existing portfolio together with operations, purchasing and vendors.
- Efficient cooperation with engineering in mechanics, electronics, software including other Bruker sites and vendors
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will posses:
- Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Chemist / Materials scientist subject 3 years’ experience of R&D in industry,
- Experience in X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, analytical instrumentation, or other X-ray analytical techniques.
- Understanding and hands-on experience of data collection and evaluation.
- Basic knowledge in programming and electronics-design appreciated.
- Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Appreciation and understanding of different cultures and religions.
- Very good communication skills for both internal and global teleconferences in English
- Ability to travel for assignment that requires 1–2-month training session at a Bruker headquarters in Germany and occasional travel to Germany within R&D projects
