Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

  • We have an immediate opening for a talented Engineering Team Manager for our X-Ray products in our R&D department. The candidate will be responsible for:
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their career development.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages open communication, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

Engineering Project Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Allocate resources effectively, balancing workloads and skill sets within the team.

Technical Guidance:
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, assisting in problem-solving and decision-making related to complex technical challenges.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team is using the best tools and practices.

Stakeholder Communication:
  • Collaborate with product managers, other engineering teams, and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and priorities.
Performance Management:
  • Set clear performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback through performance evaluations, one-on-one meetings, and constructive coaching.

  • Address any performance issues promptly and create improvement plans when necessary.

Career Development:
  • Identify opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth for each team member, supporting them in achieving their career goals.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Participate in the hiring process by identifying engineering talent, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.

  • Facilitate the onboarding process to help new team members integrate smoothly into the team and company culture.

Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that the team adheres to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to deliver reliable and high-quality products.
Conflict Resolution:
  • Address conflicts and challenges within the team, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of the engineering team's long-term strategy and objectives in alignment with the company's vision.

Qualifications

Experience
  • At least 5 years as a engineering team lead or technical project manager in capital equipment development industry (Semiconductors, Medical, Large printers etc.)

  • Must be a self-starter able to work independently as well as part of a small team on challenging problems.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills in English

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • s.C, M.S. or PhD in engineering (electronics, mechanics, software) or Physics
