The the date of the conference is approaching!
The jubilant 20th Blue Danube Symposium on Heterocycles in Chemistry will be held on 25 – 28 August 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Previously known as the Blue Danube Symposium on Heterocyclic Chemistry, this esteemed event has a rich history dating back to the year 1991. Over the past three decades, this symposium has been organized in various cities in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia, yet Prague has not had the honor of hosting this remarkable conference—until now. It is with great pride that we announce the hosting of the jubilant 20th edition of the conference here in Prague.

One might be wondering, why to change the name after 33 years? The answer is simple: as chemistry evolves, so must our approach. The name change is not merely symbolic; it signifies our commitment to evolving the conference concept to better serve the scientific community. We aim to broaden the conference’s appeal, welcoming scientists from diverse fields—medicinal chemistry, biological chemistry, material chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and beyond—whose chemistry might not be fully focused on heterocyclic chemistry, but the pivotal role of heterocycles in their work is recognized.
Prague, with its rich history and vibrant scientific community, serves as the perfect place to kick off this transformative change. We extend a warm invitation to join us in August in Prague!
