ESAS-CSSC 2022 (Day 1)

We, 7.9.2022
| Original article from: SSJMM/ESAS 2022 & 17th CSSC
On Monday, September 5th, the conference has officially started with an opening speech by Prof. Kanický and Prof. Matějka.

SSJMM: ESAS-CSSC 2022 (Day 1)

SSJMM: ESAS-CSSC 2022 (Day 1)

All the participants remembered our dear colleagues and friends who left us in the past years with a minute of silence. After the introductory briefing for the participants, the special guest of the conference Prof. Ozaki obtained the Ioannes Marcus Marci medal for his extraordinary achievements in the field of molecular spectroscopy.

SSJMM: Minuta ticha za naše drahé kolegy a kamarády, kteří nás v minulých letech opustili

Prof. Ozaki started the sequence of lectures with a very interesting topic entitled "Chiral-label-free SERS and TERS strategies for chiral discrimination", which was followed by other very engaging lectures from both the molecular and atomic sections until the afternoon hours. Breaks were used for refreshments and visits of sponsor stands.

SSJMM: Ocenění Prof. Ozakiho medailí Jana Marka Marci

The afternoon poster session brought passionate scientific discussions between the participants and new acquaintances were made here. Wine, beer, coffee and snacks in the form of buffets were also served here. Thanks to the beautiful weather, participants were able to enjoy drinks and snacks on the roof terrace.

In the evening, a small surprise was prepared for the conference participants in the form of a trip to the observatory on a special conference tram (the "Šalina"). After a short hike to the observatory on Kraví hora, a scientific program was prepared in the 3D digital room, where the participants learned interesting facts about stars and constellations and then enjoyed 2 films called "Voyager" and "We came from the stars".

For those interested, in the middle of the night the astronomical observatory offered the opportunity to see the moon, the planets of the solar system, stars and nebulae underlined by scientific talk.

To be continued on Tuesday….
