Thermo Scientific: Inductively Coupled Plasmas for Elemental Analysis in Geosciences: Optimized Tools to Find the Right Information

Knowing the elemental composition and exact concentrations of all elements in a sample is of high importance in Geosciences.

First and foremost, this information is absolutely mandatory to determine and characterize a suitable sample preparation procedure for more specific analysis, such as age or provenance determination using isotope ratio determinations. It can also provide other insights when looking at elements such as the rare earth elements or transition metals. To obtain this information, Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) are common tools in many laboratories. This webinar will highlight recent innovations in ICP-OES and triple quadrupole ICP-MS and show you how to effectively apply these techniques in your laboratory for comprehensive, fast, and quantitative characterization of your samples.

Presenter: Dr. Daniel Kutscher (Product Marketing Specialist, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Daniel earned a degree in Chemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany, in 2007. Following that, Daniel joined the Analytical Spectrometry Group at the University of Oviedo, Spain, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2011. Daniel joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2011 as a Product Specialist for ICP-MS and became a marketing specialist for Trace Elemental Analysis in 2018.
