Metrohm: Metrohm - Mastering Raw Material ID with Handheld Raman

The traditional approach to raw material identification (RMID) in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing often involves multiple time-consuming steps: Quarantining the materials, transporting to the sampling room, laboratory analysis, additional quarantine during analysis, and release to production. This process causes bottlenecks at production and risks material quality. The Metrohm MIRA system enables non-contact testing through a variety of containers, including drums.

In this webinar, we will explore how to build simple, compliant workflows to reduce quarantine time and discover tools that accelerate your RMID process from day one.

Key Learning Points:

  • Learn how MIRA’s automated workflows enable rapid RMID by warehouse operators for faster release to production
  • See how non-contact sampling identifies materials in bags, bottles, and even drums
  • Discover a traceable USP library, a shortcut to faster RMID of standard materials
  • Find out about advanced software tools for method development that help identify even difficult materials like edible oils

Who Should Attend?

  • QC lab managers, analysts, and scientists
  • PAT Scientists
  • Manufacturing managers and warehouse managers
  • Process development managers
  • VP of quality and/or operations

Presenter: Adam J. Hopkins, PhD (Spectroscopy Product Manager, Metrohm USA)

Dr. Adam J. Hopkins has nearly 20 years of experience as a spectroscopist. He got his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Oregon where he studied nonlinear optical spectroscopy under Geraldine Richmond. Prior to joining Metrohm USA, Adam worked developing spectroscopic solutions for standoff and noncontact sensing applications using Laser Induced Breakdown and Raman spectroscopy. Dr. Hopkins is a member of the American Chemical Society, Society for Applied Spectroscopy, Coblentz Society, and SPIE. He is the author of 19 papers and proceedings and is the author of three patents.
