Senior Laboratory Technician

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team in Chatteris.

In this role, you'll be analysing a wide array of finished food products and their ingredients using advanced analytical techniques. You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory standards, ensuring accurate sample preparation, and supporting high-quality scientific testing in a safe and compliant environment.

About the Position

Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30 - 17:00)

Salary:  £26,950

Location: Chatteris

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

The day to day

  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow hygiene/PPE protocols.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and calibrations (balances, pipettes, pH meters, fridges, incubators).
  • Prepare and handle samples safely, ensuring accuracy and avoiding cross-contamination.
  • Inspect and manage glassware and reagents, adhering to safety and storage guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in line with procedures.
  • Record and submit laboratory data accurately in LIMS and other tracking systems.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
