Spectroscopy Technical Specialist (NIR & Raman)
Metrohm USA is hiring a Spectroscopy Technical Specialist (STS) to support NIR and Raman spectroscopy solutions across lab and process environments. In this key technical role, you’ll collaborate with sales, service, and product teams to deliver exceptional pre-sales and post-sales support — from method development and product demos to customer training and troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate will reside in the metropolitan area of Chicago, Houston or Tampa and/or within a reasonable commutable distance to a major airport.
What You’ll Do
- Support spectroscopy product lines across both lab and process applications (NIR, Raman)
- Lead technical product demos, evaluations, and training (on-site and virtual)
- Develop and implement spectroscopy methods for customer applications
- Provide advanced post-sales troubleshooting and support
- Collaborate with Sales teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Represent Metrohm at industry events, conferences, and webinars
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with NIR and Raman spectroscopy
- Strong chemometrics knowledge and method implementation experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and travel up to 50%
- Experience in pharma, chemicals, polymers, food/agriculture, or personal care industries preferred
- Prior experience training users or supporting sales/pre-sales preferred
Additional Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%. Valid driver’s license and insurable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Must pass a background check, drug screening (including marijuana), and employment/education verification.
