Regional Sales Manager - Eastern

Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager negotiates, coordinates, and implements marketing activities at the regional level to include: booking events, representing the facility at conventions and tradeshows and promoting facility space.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct sales and overall sales team management of all prime line analytical instrumentation, metallographic sample preparation, optical microscopes, hardness testing and related imaging equipment, consumables and accessories within domestic confines of Eastern Region
- Mentor and direct activities for all field sales reps within Eastern Region
- Help define and generate strategies to lead and achieve sales targets/goals
- Grow and develop sales within existing customer markets and drive sales to expand into adjacent markets
- Forecast and report sales objectives and performance on routine basis
- Define corrective actions/strategies when sales objectives are not met
- Report and interpret data and analysis on product, customer, competition, funding dynamics, and territory trends in sales and pricing as needed to drive effective business management
- Maintain and utilize CRM to develop opportunities, maintain dynamic customer history, generate activities and report overall progress within each territory
- Based on customer and territory knowledge, provide new product and new market ideas regularly
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve direct sales reports
- Review and participate in trade shows, regional seminars, and similar events as required
- Develop, forecast and track costs to annual budget
- Identify and lead efforts with “corporate accounts” with facilities in Eastern Region
- Other duties as directed or required
Position Requirements
- Strong oral and verbal communication skills
- Prior field sales experience, preferably in laboratory equipment field
- Preferably, prior sales management experience with direct reports
- Ability to work within USA without restrictions
- Overnight travel as required
Education/Certifications
- BS degree minimum, preferably in Sciences or related disciplines
