ICP-MS Pre-Sales Application Scientist
We are seeking a hard-working, people-oriented Atomic Spectroscopy Application Scientist with a strong focus on sophisticated materials, life sciences, environmental, food, and semiconductor methodologies using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and triple quadrupole ICP-MS (ICP-QQQ). In this position, you will be on a team of application scientists supporting Agilent's North American Life Science and Applied Markets’ Atomic Spectroscopy Business.
This position will travel throughout the US to support our clients. The ideal candidate will reside close to an Agilent Center of Excellence office in Chicago, IL, Santa Clara, CA, or Wilmington, DE.
Key responsibilities
- Providing pre-sales technical and application support for sales team members in driven sales situations
- Perform sample analyses and demonstrations for prospective customers using Agilent’s ICP-MS and ICP-QQQ Systems
- Preparing and communicating technical information at professional seminars to potential customers
- Providing phone and on-site post-sales technical and applications support to Agilent’s ICP-MS user base
- Presenting the latest advancements in Atomic Spectroscopy at conferences, symposiums, and e-seminars
- Working with Agilent’s Atomic Spectroscopy Product Specialists and Account Managers to develop technical sales strategies.
- Focusing on developing new publications (Application Notes and peer-reviewed manuscripts) highlighting Agilent’s ICP-MS and ICP-QQQ platforms.
- Providing reports on activities and technical trends observed regularly to Product and Field Marketing.
- Promoting Agilent’s ICP-MS platforms and aiding in the training of the sales force
- Providing pre-and post-sales support for systems in 21CFR-compliant environments
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree
- 4_ years of proven experience operating an ICP-MS or ICP-QQQ
- Familiarity with major applications for ICP-MS, including Environmental, Specialty Chemicals, Semiconductor, Sophisticated Materials, Food, and Life Sciences (elemental speciation knowledge a plus)
- Hands-on experience performing metals analyses at ultra-trace levels
- Experience with ICP-MS analysis following EPA, FDA, USP, ASTM, or AOAC methodologies
- Familiarity with Atomic Absorption (AA), MP-AES, and ICP-OES is desirable
- Strong digital literacy and excellent technical written and oral presentation skills are needed
- Must be a good teammate and be able to work collaboratively on projects and sales opportunities
- Strong project management experience and skills, able to meet deadlines while handling several different projects simultaneously
- Available for flexible work schedules and up to 50% business travel throughout the US
