Important Dates

  • 4 December: Session proposal submission opens
  • 4 December: Professional training course proposals open
  • 11 March: Session proposal submission deadline (17:00 ET)
  • 2 April: Abstract submission opens
  • 2 April: SETAC North America student meeting attendance grants open
  • 3 June: Training course and parallel event proposal deadline
  • 3 June: Abstract submission deadline (free) (17:00 ET)
  • 10 June: SETAC North America student meeting attendance grants deadline
  • 10 June: Abstract submission deadline ($50 fee) (17:00 ET)
  • 15 July: Registration and housing opens
  • 29 July: Late-breaking science poster abstract submission opens ($50 fee)
  • 16 September: Early bird registration and reduced fee exhibitor deadline
  • 8 October: Housing deadline
  • 14 October: Deadline to cancel registration or switch from in-person to virtual with refund
  • 14 October: Deadline for chairs and presenters to register
  • 14 October: Late-breaking science poster abstract submission deadline ($50 fee)
  • 5 February: Last day to access on-demand and recorded content on the meeting platform 

Registration

Registration will open in mid July

The deadline to register at the early bird rate is 16 September.

Registration Fees

For planning and budgeting purposes, the estimated in-person fees are as follows:

  • For professional members with loyalty status, fees will be between $800 to $900.
  • For professional members, fees will be between $950 to $1,050.
  • For students and members from low- and middle-income countries, discounted fees will be between $325 to $365.

Depending on type and level of membership and date of registration, fees may be slightly higher or lower than indicated.

All program participants (speakers, panelists, poster presenters, moderators, course instructors, program committee members and volunteers) are required to register and pay to attend the conference by 14 October

Abstract Submission

Abstract submission opens on 2 April.

Guidelines for Writing Abstracts

  • Submit abstract to a track and a session to which the subject matter is applicable
  • Use title case for your title (for example, “Recommended Minimum
  • Reporting Information for Environmental Toxicity Data”)
  • Spell out abbreviations and acronyms in the title
  • Keep abbreviations and acronyms to a minimum in the abstract and fully define at first reference
  • Do not include citations
  • Do not promote a commercial product, process or service
  • Write for your audience: session chairs and colleagues
  • Be clear and concise. Suggested outline:
    • Include one or two sentences on background
    • Identify the challenge, problem, question or purpose of the work
    • Explain how you plan to address the challenge
    • Describe methods or approach without getting into excessive detail
    • Report results or hypothesis, as appropriate
    • Summarize main conclusions if research is complete
    • Note the relevance of the study: How findings advance the topic or how they can be applied
  • The body of the abstract should not exceed 2,500 characters (including spaces)
