Shimadzu UV-1900i UV-VIS Spectrophotometer is a high performance spectrophotometer that was manufactured 4/2019, purchased 12/2019. This instrument is ideal for analytical chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology due to its accuracy, reliability and ease of use.

Use and Maintenance
Since the last service in 2023, the spectrophotometer has been used approximately 4-8 times per month for 5-30 minutes. Every Monday the instrument was checked by measuring the absorbance using a certified reference cuvette (Neutral density filter). Since the beginning of 2024, the instrument has been used only for the Monday check and approximately four times for sample measurements throughout the semester. From May 2024 the instrument was no longer used.
The spectrophotometer is housed in a climate-controlled laboratory at room temperature. The instrument is plugged in and functional, although we are not currently using it.
