What is a Single Quadrupole ICP/MS?

The ICP torch ionizes elements at extremely high temperatures, creating positively charged ions. These ions are introduced into the quadrupole mass filter, which separates them based on their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z). A detector then records the abundance of each isotope, enabling highly sensitive and selective multi-element analysis.
